General Information

We are blessed to offer the beauty of Lake Guntersville as the backdrop for your next outdoor recreational event or retreat. The center operates year-round (closed during Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's Holidays), as a ministry of the Marshall Baptist Association. We provide facilities for a wide range of outdoor recreational activities.

Although we specialize in group retreats and camps, we also provide the perfect setting for church-wide fellowships, swimming parties or just about any outdoor recreational event. If you have an idea for a special function, contact us, we'll do our best to accommodate you, your church or group.

Our Facilities Include: Two Dormitories, Kitchen & Dining Hall, Full-Court Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Children's Playground, Picnic Tables, Covered Pavilions (small seat approx. 20, our new large pavilion seats approx. 80), Volleyball Court, Horseshoe Pits, Lakeside Campfire Site, Canoes, Paddleboats, Fishing Pier, Boat Launch, Play Fields, and our Challenge / Adventure Course!

Overnight Facilities

Our two dormitories sleep 32 people, each. Each dorm has two separate sleeping quarters, (16 per quarter), each with clean restroom and shower facilities. Both dorms are centrally heated and air conditioned. Each dorm also contains a common meeting area (Florida Room) with tables and chairs for 32 people, a full-size stove and fridge, basic cooking equipment and utensils. Groups must provide their own cups, plates, napkins, etc. We do not offer in-house food service.

Groups staying overnight have a choice of preparing meals in the dormitory or in our main Kitchen & Dining Hall (upon it's availability). The Dining Hall can seat over 100 for meals. It can also be rented separately for special functions. This large Kitchen & Dining Hall has two full-size stoves and fridges, a deep freeze, large prep and serving area, cooking utensils, and storage.

Recreational Facilities

Recreational Facilities allow for a wide array of activities. These facilities include a children's playground, a gymnasium, volleyball courts, kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, a boat launch, fishing piers boat launch, a swimming pool and a newly built and fully accredited Challenge / Adventure Course! Inside our full-court gym you will find ping-pong and foosball tables as well.

Lakeside Pavilions

In additional to all this.... we also have lakeside picnic tables and covered pavilions for your church picnic or outing! Our largest covered pavilion has a cement floor, ceiling fans and lights, electric hook-ups, and picnic tables that can seat approximately 80 people. Many groups enjoy having their worship services and fellowships under this large pavilion.

2020 Rates: (We are happy to say our rates are the same as our 2017 rates!)

Marshall Baptist Association Church Rates:

Dormitories - year around: $21/person/per night (also includes the use of the swimming pool and boats from 1 - 5 PM during the summer months as well as the gym, playfields, horseshoe pits, playground, fishing piers, and boat launch)

Large Kitchen/Dining Hall: ( For church sponsored events such as church-wide fellowships, classes, etc.):

$80.00 - 50 persons or less

$105.00 - 51 - 125 people

$130.00 - 125+ people

For use in conjunction with a dormitory rental: $60/per day

Day Guest with Dormitory Groups:

Individuals who come to participate with a dormitory group, but do not stay overnight, will be charged at the daily rate of $5/per day.

For use by an MBA member (not church sponsored activity & max. of 6 hrs.): $150.00

Challenge Course: $10/per participant - must be reserved two weeks in advance of arrival date

Pavilions: Small - no charge for churches for church activity

Small (MBA church member) - $25.00

Medium - $50.00 - churches for church activity

Medium (MBA church member) - $55.00

Large - $80.00 church for church activity

Large (MBA church member) - $85.00

Swimming Pool Parties: $75.00/1 hour, $100.00/2 hours

Non- Marshall Baptist Association Church/Group Rates:

Dormitories:

Summer Season (Memorial weekend - Labor Day weekend) - $25.00/per person/per night (minimum two night rental required) Dorm fee also includes the use of the swimming pool and boats from 1 - 5 PM as well as the gym, playfields, boat launch, horseshoe pits, and fishing piers.

Off-Season (Day after Labor Day until Memorial Weekend) - $23.00/per person/per night (Includes the use of the gym, playfields, horseshoe pits, fishing pier and boat launch).

Day Guest with Dormitory Groups:

Individuals who come to participate with a dormitory group, but do not stay overnight, will be charged at the daily rate of $5/per day.

Large Kitchen/Dining Hall

Rental use in conjunction with a dormitory rental: $85/per day

Rental use on a daily (6 hrs. max.) basis: $160.00

Challenge Course: $10/per participant - must be reserved two weeks in advance of arrival date

Pavilions: Small - $40.00, Medium - $55.00, Large - $85.00

Swimming Pool Parties: $75.00/1 hour, $100.00/2 hours (this is in addition to the free swim hours of 1-5 PM for dormitory guest during the summer months)

Family Reunions / Wedding Policy: The Marshall Baptist Retreat Center does not allow the dormitories to be reserved for family reunions. Pavilions or the kitchen/dining hall may be reserved for family reunions by Marshall Baptist Association church members. The Retreat Center does not allow any weddings or receptions to be held on the retreat center grounds.
